The large wooden worm bin next to the shed used paper for bedding and added much of the vegetative waste from the garden. Dark material underneath Phil’s hand is well-processed vermicompost in which several pounds of worms were living. They seemed to be in good condition. Project for the day was to harvest these worms, separating them from the vermicompost so that the worms could go in mini-worm bins to student dorm rooms for the winter.
